Drummer/producer James 'PJ' Spraggins is back with his third studio album "Time to Heal". PJ started writing music for Time to Heal while he and his wife were on the mend from Kidney transplant surgery that took place in early late February 2015. PJ's wife, Tracy (aka Sweet Nita), was in need of a kidney and PJ was a perfect match to donate to her. "Time to Heal" is comprised of songs mostly written and produced by PJ during his "Downtime" as he took "Time to Heal" appropriately from the surgery. This new CD features some of PJ's favorite musician friends to work with live & in studio such as Eric Essix, Frank McComb, Tracy Hamlin, Kim Scott, Mike Burton, Melvin Jones, Kelley Oneal, Kelvin Wooten, Sean Michael Ray, Keith Williams, Melvin Miller and Alex Al. Also featured on this new CD is a fan-favorite cover of Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man".
Fresh for 2012 and beyond is PJ’s brand new release, Pure Logic. Pure Logic is guaranteed to be his most progressive effort yet with new artist collaborations representing several different genres and a musical appearance by legendary jazz saxophonist, Gerald Albright, playing bass guitar on the foot-stomping track ‘Grandma’s Groove’ dedicated to the memory of PJ’s late grandmother. PJ also steps from behind the drums to deliver his debut vocal performance on the spiritually calming track ‘Come to Jesus’. From jazz to hip hop, from r&b to gospel, Pure Logic has something for everyone.
